- Former “Buffy, the Vampire Slayer” star Marc Blucas (he played the Slayer’s Season 5 squeeze, ‘Riley Finn’ – one of the chaps in charge of the vamp-obliterating team known as ‘The Initiative’) has snagged a plum role in the new Tom Cruise/Cameron Diaz flick – previously known as “Wichita”.
The James Mangold directed spy thriller tells of an upbeat Midwestern woman (Diaz) who goes on a blind date with a man (Cruise) who turns out to be a federal agent. She gets pulled into a violent worldwide journey to protect a powerful battery that holds the key to an infinite power source. Blucas will play the woman's fireman ex-boyfriend, who is still smitten with her and becomes confused by the agent's overtures of friendship.
Hollywood’s been fairly kind to Blucas since he said his goodbyes to Buffy – he’s headlined such direct-to-video flicks as “Three”, “The Killing Floor” and “After Sex”, and co-starred in more high-profile pics like “Meet Dave”, “The Jane Austen Book Club”, “First Daughter” and “The Alamo”, in which he played James Bonham.

- Now, these kids are not destined. In fact, loving each other was a byproduct of their destinies in the sense of their destinies brought them together, but them loving each other actually pushed against their destinies. Their destiny is the mission. Their love distracts from that. The mission wins out. This is their great tragedy. ~ anythingbutgrey, about Cangel
